Public Roadshows
"Just wanted to express my thanks to the
crew who ran the event in Dewsbury – they gave it their 110%.
People were queuing up to get in before the start and at 5pm there
were still people arriving! It was the mot successful cycling event
I have been involved with in Kirklees and I am sure we will be making
a booking again.
John Gleadow, Countryside Access Officer, Kirklees MBC.
"We had a cycling event in a County Park
and it went very well (3000 plus people). CoC ran their part of
the event very well. There were queues of people all afternoon.
I can recommend them as a good way to promote cycling."
Nick Hall, Conservation Officer, Bedford
"You have hard-working, knowledgeable
and committed staff: a credit to your organisation."
Chris Poultney, City of Plymouth
"Jim's talk at the Cleaner and Greener
meeting was very informative, interesting and worthwhile. We have
also had good feedback from the schools, and from the community."
Jane Havemann, Barking and Dagenham
"With the help of Company of Cyclists
we hosted a very successful cycling promotion day in March this
year - at our local Leisure Centre. The day was well attended and
the indoor venue avoided cancellation due to weather. We would definitely
hold another indoor try-out roadshow."
Sue Ferguson, Community Leisure Officer, South Kesteven District
Council
"The Get Cycling Roadshow went very well
and was very well received by everyone. We were very impressed by
the service of your representatives. The feedback we got from people
who attended the roadshow was very positive."
Cleator Moor Social Regeneration Board
Get Cycling Week
"We knew we had engaged a professional
outfit in the Company of Cyclists, but nevertheless were very impressed
by the attention to detail, the customer focus, and the way you
adapted the programme at short notice when we agreed it was necessary."
Lindley Owen, Sustrans Manager, Cornwall and Plymouth (Cornwall
Festival of Cycling).
"The Southampton Get Cycling Festival
was a great success. Over 2,500 people took part in the event. The
Ordnance Survey and Southampton General Hospital were very pleased
with their BikeWorks events. We got widespread press coverage –
TV, newspapers and radio. There are lots of good photographs from
the week courtesy of your photographer. We were very impressed with
the enthusiasm, professionalism and good humour displayed by the
C of C crews. Southampton City Council has no hesitation in recommending
Company of Cyclists to other organisations and is highly likely
to use them again."
Pete Brunskill, Cycling Development Officer, Southampton City Council
"I attended the Cornwall Festival of
Cycling, and what a positive and exciting event it was. It was extremely
well attended, with children and adults alike, there were many elderly
residents who took part. As a local County Councillor, I felt it
was best not to sit on the sidelines, but to actually take part.
I also took along my two teenagers and my aging husband! They found
it good fun."
Terry Lillo
For Businesses
"Thanks to you and your team for helping
to run a successful bike event on Monday. 305 visitors was more
than we had hoped for. From the feedback on the day and since, many
people were pleased that the Company was running such an event and
with the advice your team gave them… Attached are the results
of the questionnaire. An impressive 70% of people felt they were
more likely to cycle after visiting the event."
Gary Colet, Marks & Spencers
"Promoting cycling in this way has certainly
encouraged our staff to appreciate the benefits of pedal power.
I have received nothing but positive comments during and since the
event took place."
Simon Kavanagh, Business Planner, the Environment Agency, Bristol
"We are extremely grateful for your involvement,
and the promotional information, marketing and effective ideas you
brought to the day."
Helen Davies, Birmingham TravelWise Officer
Green-Link
"We have had a very good response from
all officers and teams in LBC that have used Green-Link so far –
in particular they have noted that the service is reliable and flexible,
and knowing the people involved means an extra feeling of security
that the job will be carried out exactly as required."
Pauline Roby, Luton Borough Council
"We are very happy with the professional
way Company of Cyclists have conducted their Green-Link feasibility
study here in Darlington, and the results make us very likely to
commission a pilot scheme."
Owen Wilson, Principal Transport Officer, Darlington Borough Council
"The service? Excellent. We ring them,
set a time, they turn up on the button and deliver as required for
a penny less per item than Royal Mail. The individual 'services'
work well too as we now can go to court, if required, with the extra
bit of proof that the legal notice was served at the required address."
Andreas Holden - Enforcement, HSS, Luton
"In the time of using these couriers I
have found them to be reliable, a pleasure to talk to and always
willing to undertake any deliveries. I also think that they are
cost effective and knowing that your mail will be delivered the
same day shows excellent service from LBC."
Mary Parker, Town Hall Post Room, Luton.
"Lifelong Learning were really impressed
with the service. The staff were helpful, efficient and courteous
and we wouldn't hesitate in using them again."
Katherine Golby, LLL (community centre deliveries, schools run,
Luton)
Schools
"We had an excellent day with direct benefit
to all 240 Y7 and 60 Y9,
and a further 60+ after school participants."
David Gard, Falmouth Community College
"I was instructed to write a critique
of the performance of the guys, but I’m afraid there wouldn’t
be much for me to say! They were great! Did what I expected them
to do, turned up on time, perfectly friendly and highly efficient,
and created a perfect focus for the days."
Lindsey Coates, Croydon Council
"I would not hesitate to recommend CoC,
not only for the educational and promotional aspects, but it was
a pleasure to work with a professional, hard-working and reliable
group of staff."
Cathy McNulty, Liverpool City Council
Colleges and Universities
"The two one-day Get Cycling Support Service
events in Sept and October were well received here at Brunel. I
have noticed a marked increase in the number of cycles in the cycle
stands this year! However we need to keep the momentum going."
Penny Flanagan, Brunel University
"I would like to thank you and your team
for four very successful days. We were more than happy with the
arrangements and the response and would hope we could arrange similar
events in the future."
Ken Orgill, General Manager, Support Services, University of Birmingham
"Leeds Met feels that change cannot happen
through one-off events. The GCSS provides a great way to keep cycling
at the front of everyone’s mind with its sequence of visits.
The surveys also provide valuable information on just how this change
is happening."
Mark Warner, Leeds Metropolitan University
Vitality
"Company of Cyclists have brought to the
Vitality Project creativity, energy, and advanced publishing skills,
along with the ability to deliver. Their work on developing the
Vitality Challenge brought excellent results."
Jane Lillystone, South Holland District Council

"We were delighted with our customised
Get Cycling Guides. Another great production."
Don Kent, Newcastle TravelWise Officer (on publications for the
Inland Revenue and the Hospitals Trust).
"An excellent piece of work."
Lucy Williams, Suffolk Cycling Officer
"Our customised Get Cycling guide is a
long-lasting, professional and very effective way of getting the
cycling message out to students and staff."
